Our fast-paced Personal Injury Law Firm in Columbia, SC, is growing and we are looking to hire an experienced, high-caliber, full-time Bookkeeper & Staff Accountant.

The Staff Accountant role will have a primary responsibility of maintaining Firm books and records as well as Trust compliance, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, Kim S. Jeffcoat. An ideal candidate will ensure compliance, efficiency, and exhibit excellent time management. We are looking for a reliable, trustworthy, intentional person who understands our financial goals and has imperative attention to detail.
As the Staff Accountant, you will:
Ensure the Firm and attorneys are in full compliance with the South Carolina Rules of Professional Conduct
Document and record transaction details in QuickBooks and Litify
Handle confidential financial reports
Fact checks accounting data for accuracy and completeness
Advise the CFO of accounting errors and inconsistencies
Track payroll data
Ensure compliance with trust agreements
Process accounts receivable/ payable in a timely manner
Maintain trust records
Expectations:

Learn The Jeffcoat Firm processes and make appropriate suggestions where necessary
Have experience in Bookkeeping and be a self-starter, willing to follow directions
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism, exercising discretion when dealing with sensitive and high-level client and business matters
Be a welcome part of a lively office environment with teammates who genuinely care for one another
Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 an hour.
