SALUDA, SC – A man died after his vehicle collided with an 18-wheeler along a highway in Saluda County on Monday evening, WRDW 12 reports.
Police say the incident happened around 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of Batesburg Highway, or U.S.-378, and South Jennings Street.
Local and state police are still investigating the cause of the accident, which they say involved an SUV and a tractor-trailer.
The driver of the SUV died at the scene of the collision. Authorities identified the victim as 56-year-old Jahsiri Ahmad Abdul Moyenda from Saluda.
It is unclear at this time if the driver of the 18-wheeler sustained injuries or if either vehicle carried any additional occupants.
