CARLISLE, SC – A driver died after their vehicle crashed along a highway in Southeast Union County on Thursday afternoon, Fox Carolina reports.
Police say the incident happened at 12:42 p.m. on SC-72 near Woodyard Road, also known as State Road S-44-113.
For reasons unknown, an eastbound vehicle veered from the roadway and collided with a sign before driving across the median, exiting the opposite side of the highway, and crashing into both a tree and a ditch.
It is unclear if the car carried additional occupants. The incident remains under investigation with law enforcement.
