LAURENS CO., SC – A 58-year-old man from North Carolina died when his pickup truck crashed along an interstate in eastern Laurens County on Friday night, WYFF 4 reports.
Police say the victim’s pickup truck veered from the westbound side of I-26 around 9:45 p.m. before overcorrecting and crashing along the eastbound side of the road near Mile Marker 47.
The driver of the pickup truck died after his vehicle hit a cable barrier.
Authorities identified the victim as James Smoak.
The reason for the crash remains under investigation.
