JASPER CO., FL – One person died when an SUV with six occupants crashed on I-95 near Ridgeland Saturday morning, WJCL reports.
State police disclosed that the crash occurred around 4:49 a.m. near mile marker 28 in Jasper County. They say a 2007 Ford Expedition overturned after veering from the road and hitting a tree.
The driver of the SUV was taken to an area hospital, and the front passenger died as a result of the crush. The remaining occupants did not sustain any injuries.
Police are not certain what caused the driver to leave the roadway. An investigation is underway.
