IRMO, SC – A Sunday evening collision involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck killed one person and sent another to the hospital in Irmo, reports WLTX News 19.
Police say the crash happened around 6:50 p.m. at the intersection of US-76 and Shadowood Drive.
A GMC Sierra pickup truck struck a 2008 Harley Davidson carrying a driver and passenger. The driver of the pickup truck had turned left from Shadowood onto westbound US-76 as the motorcycle travelled eastbound on US-76.
Medics transported both the driver and passenger from the Harley to a local hospital, where the driver later died from injuries caused by the crash.
The GMC carried three occupants, none of whom sustained injuries in the accident.
A full investigation of the incident is underway.
