SUMTER COUNTY, SC – A driver died, and a passenger went to the hospital on Sunday after three vehicles collided in an intersection near Cherryvale, reports WLTX News 19.
Police say the crash happened around 1 p.m. at the intersection of Patriot Parkway and North St. Paul’s Church Road. A 2014 Nissan pickup truck, a Cadillac sedan, and a 2001 Jeep SUV all collided in the intersection.
It is unclear how the crash occurred, but authorities say the pickup truck was travelling north on North St. Paul’s Church Road while the Cadillac travelled north on Patriot Parkway. The Jeep SUV was stopped and pointed southward on St. Paul’s Church Road.
The driver of the Jeep SUV died at the scene of the crash, and a passenger was injured.
The other two drivers and one other passenger did not sustain injuries in the wreck.
Police have not released the name of the victim. The incident remains under investigation.
