ANDERSON CO., SC – A pileup involving a semi and 19 other cars hurt many people and caused I-85 to close for several hours Monday near Pelzer and Williamston.
WCBD News 2 reports that the crash happened around 4:30 p.m. near mile marker 31 on I-85.
Authorities have not commented on what caused the crash but have said that it involved an 18-wheeler, an overturned vehicle, and two cars that collided with trees along the highway.
Specific details regarding injuries is not yet available, but at least 17 people went to the hospital after being hurt in the crash.
