News: Boat in road, minor injuries after US 17 Awendaw crash

AWENDAW, SC – A boat landed in the roadway when two vehicles collided on North Highway 17 in Charleston County last Thursday afternoon, WCBD News 2 reports.

Authorities say the crash happened just before 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 17 and Seewee Road, or 15 Mile Landing Road to the west. One of the vehicles carried a boat on a trailer, which fell during the crash.

Police have not indicated how many people were hurt in the crash or how the accident happened. They say the injuries are minor but that both vehicles sustained significant damage.

An investigation is underway.
