SUMTER, SC – A two-year-old boy was struck by a car and killed in a residential area of Sumter on Sunday, WLTX reports.
State police say the accident happened around 9:20 p.m. near the intersection of West Patricia Drive and Deacon Lane. The child entered the roadway on Deacon Lane and was struck by a southbound 2013 Cadillac XTS.
The two-year-old boy was pronounced deceased at a local hospital. The driver of the Cadillac did not sustain any injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
