News: Collision involving construction truck blocks Don Holt Bridge

CHARLESTON, SC – Major traffic delays were reported after a construction truck crashed on the Don Holt Bridge early Monday, WCSC reports.

The crash happened shortly before 8:30 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-526.

The cause of the incident is unclear at this time. Police say the truck spilled nails across the freeway, prompting them to shut down the bridge for at least an hour while clean up crews worked the scene.

All lanes were reopened by 10 a.m.
