DORCHESTER CO., SC – A 14-year-old passenger from Goose Creek died in a single-vehicle crash along the interstate in north Dorchester County, reports The Berkeley Observer.

Police say the incident happened around 7:24 p.m. near mile marker 182 on the eastbound side of I-26, which is near Harleyville.

An initial investigation revealed that a Chevrolet Suburban SUV left the roadway in a wooded area along the interstate.

Authorities identified the victim but have not provided any other details about how the crash happened. It is also unclear if the driver sustained injuries or if there were any other passengers in the vehicle.

The wreck remains under investigation, and an autopsy is planned for July 15th at MUSC in Charleston.
