KERSHAW CO., SC – A 49-year-old man died Wednesday evening when his vehicle collided with an 18-wheeler on the interstate near Camden, The State reports.
Police say the accident happened around 7:30 p.m. on I-20 near mile marker 105, which is just west of Camden.
For unknown reasons, an eastbound 2010 Chevrolet Malibu rear-ended a 2015 Freightliner semi-truck, which was also travelling east on I-20.
The unrestrained driver of the sedan died at the scene of the collision. Authorities have identified him as Roger Reed from Kingstree.
The driver of the tractor-trailer did not sustain any injuries in the crash.
The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
