PELION, SC -A 38-year-old motorcyclist from Gaston died after colliding with a sedan in south Lexington County on Sunday evening.
The State reports that the collision occurred around 7 p.m. on Bushberry Road in Pelion near the intersection with SC-302.
Police say the motorcyclist was eastbound on Bushberry Road when he crashed into a westbound vehicle. The car had entered his path while making a left turn. The biker was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
The driver of the motorcycle died at a local hospital from his injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured in the accident.
Authorities have identified the motorcyclist as Robert Joe McDaniel III.
The crash remains under investigation.
