NORTH AUGUSTA, SC – One person died from injuries sustained in a three-vehicle crash that happened Saturday on the interstate in North Augusta, WRDW 12 reports.
Police say the incident happened around 4:30 a.m. on the westbound side of I-20 near mile marker 6.
The initial investigation revealed that a Kia sedan collided with a disabled 2013 Chevy Impala, which had been involved in a prior accident and was parked in the middle of the roadway. After this initial collision, a 2012 Dodge Charger struck the Kia sedan.
The driver of the Dodge did not sustain any injuries in the crash.
Medics transported the driver of the Kia and a passenger to a local hospital where the passenger died just over an hour later from their injuries.
The crash remains under investigation. Law enforcement has not yet released the identities of the parties involved.
