CHARLESTON, SC – One person died after being hit by two vehicles on a state road in the Johns Island area of Charleston on Tuesday morning, WBTW News 13 reports.
Polices say the incident happened around 2:30 a.m. when a vehicle struck a man as he walked along State Road S-10-432 near Crozet Drive.
The first vehicle left the scene, and a second vehicle hit the pedestrian. The driver of the second vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Medics transported the victim to a local hospital, where he later died from injuries sustained in the collision. Authorities have not yet identified him publicly.
Police are actively investigating the incident. Anyone with information to share about the vehicle that fled the scene should contact the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office.
