PACOLET, SC – An 85-year-old man died Friday morning when a train collided with his vehicle in East Spartanburg County, News 2 reports.
Police say the incident occurred around 9:42 a.m. when a train hit a pickup truck at the intersection of West Main Street, or State Road S-42-227, and Vulcan Road.
Authorities have identified the victim as Roland Gene Phillips of Pacolet.
It is unclear how the accident happened, but local police are performing a full investigation.
