HORRY CO., SC – One person died when a car left the highway, hit a tree, and caught fire near Loris on Sunday, WMBF reports.
Local police say the incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. when a northbound 2013 Mazda veered off of US Highway 19 near State Road 410 and collided with a tree. The Mazda then caught fire.
The driver was the only occupant of the Mazda.
South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the accident.
