CROSS, SC – One person died and another went to the hospital with life-threatening injuries Saturday after an accident involving an SUV in northwest Berkeley County.
Live 5 WCSC reports that the incident happened around 11:30 p.m. on Ranger Drive, or SC-6, near SC-11.
Police say a driver and a passenger were thrown from an eastbound 2016 Jeep Compass SUV when the vehicle veered from the roadway and overturned.
The driver died at the scene of the crash, while the passenger went to an area hospital with serious injuries.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
