NORTH CHARLESTON, SC – Authorities have not yet released the identity of a person who died when their car crashed along the interstate in North Charleston on Sunday, reports WCBD News 2.
Police say the incident happened around 10:20 a.m. on the eastbound side of I-26 near mile marker 207, which is north of the junction with Highway 78.
The preliminary investigation suggests that, for unknown reasons, the driver of a 2016 Ford sedan veered off of I-26 and struck a tree after overturning. The driver died from injuries sustained in the accident.
A full investigation is underway.
