News: Vehicle strikes, kills bicyclist near Myrtle Beach

HORRY COUNTY, SC – A cyclist died Wednesday night after colliding with a car on a Horry County roadway near Myrtle Beach, abc15 News reports.

Police say the incident happened around 11:30 p.m. on Burcale Road close to Clay Pond Road.

An initial investigation suggests that the vehicle crashed into the bicycle after the cyclist changed lanes on Burcale Road. 

Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim, nor have they specified whether anyone else sustained injuries in the accident. 

A full investigation is underway with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
