News: SCHP seeks driver that hit motorcyclist in Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC – A vehicle fled Thursday night after hitting a motorcyclist who had crashed their bike along the interstate in North Charleston, WCBD News 2 reports.

Police say the incident happened around 11:50 p.m. near the exit for Montague Road, or State Road S-10-62.

The initial investigation revealed that the eastbound motorcyclist lost control of their vehicle and hit a curb. The collision threw the motorcyclist from the bike and into the roadway, where an unknown vehicle struck them before leaving the scene.

The motorcyclist died after transport to a local hospital. Officials have not yet identified the victim publicly.

A full investigation is underway. Anyone with information to share about the accident can contact the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
