News: Semi hits SUV in Bethune, killing 1 and hurting 2

BETHUNE, SC – A passenger died, and two drivers were hospitalized when an 18-wheeler collided with CRV in southwest Chesterfield County Friday night, WSOC-TV reports.

Police say the wreck happened around 10:50 p.m. on U.S. Highway 1 near the intersection with Old Creek Road. A northbound Freightliner tractor-trailer failed to stop at a stop sign on Old Creek Road and crashed into a westbound Honda CRV on U.S. Highway 1.

A passenger in the Honda died at the scene of the collision. The drivers of both vehicles sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
