LANCASTER, SC – A van passenger died on Tuesday when the vehicle veered off the highway near Lancaster and hit a tree, WSOC-TV reports.
The incident occurred after 6 a.m. on SC-200 near Bethel Road.
Police say the passenger of the 2001 Dodge utility van died at the scene of the accident. The driver of the van was airlifted to a local hospital.
South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
