SUMTER, SC – A woman was hurt while escaping her mobile home after it was hit by a car on Friday in Sumter County, News 19 reports.
Sumter Fire and The American Red Cross say the incident happened just before noon on Cherryvale Drive.
The crash caused significant damage to the home as well as an interruption to utility services. As a result, the woman and her child, who was not home at the time of the crash, were forced to seek alternate lodging.
The Red Cross is currently helping the family.
It is unknown at this time why the crash occurred or whether criminal charges have been filed.
