News: Both drivers killed in 2-car Colleton Co. collision

WALTERBORO, SC – Two people died, and three others were hurt Sunday after two vehicles crashed into each other on a highway on the outskirts of Walterboro, reports Live 5 WCSC.

Police say the incident happened at 6:25 p.m. when for unknown reasons, a westbound VW minivan and an eastbound 2018 Honda SUV collided on SC-64 near Ritter Road, or State Road S-14-51.

Both drivers died in the crash. Authorities have not yet released their names.

Additionally, one passenger from the Honda and two passengers from the VW were hospitalized due to injuries sustained in the accident. The severity of their injuries is unknown at this time.

The crash remains under investigation with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
