PENDLETON, SC – A man was killed and another person was hospitalized following a crash and vehicle fire in Pendleton on Saturday.
According to WSPA, the collision occurred at about 3:30 p.m. when the driver of a 2008 Toyota heading east on Danenhower Road went left of center and slammed head-on into a 2009 Toyota.
The impact caused the first vehicle to catch fire, trapping the driver inside. The driver, 22-year-old Patrick Albert Hunkler, was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is unclear at this time if anyone else was injured in the crash.
