SUMMERVILLE, SC – Officials have not yet released the name of a driver who died Wednesday night in a crash along a roadway in southern Dorchester County.
WCBD News 2 reports that the incident happened just before 10:40 p.m. near the intersection of Wildgame Road near Woodrow Road. This is a stretch of roadway between Beltline Road and Sheep Island Road in Summerville.
The investigation thus far suggests that, for unknown reasons, a southbound 2003 GMC SUV veered off of Wildgame Road and crashed into a tree.
It is unclear at this time if the victim was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Medics transported one passenger to the hospital with injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
